Life takes unexpected turns.

Our why.

Meela was founded in 2021 by Natali Suo and Tiffany Boswell. Natali is half Greek, half Finnish, born and raised in Sweden. Tiffany is from Burnley Lancashire, UK.

They know firsthand what it feels like to need help for their mental health but struggle to find the right therapist to help them.

Tiffany was 18 years old when she went through a traumatic event and needed to speak to someone. Met with long wait times at the NHS she decided to find one herself. After a Google search with over 9 million suggestions, she met the first therapist who replied to her email. It was not a good match. It took her a few more years, and a few more therapists before she met the right one.

For Natali, she was 20 years old, and her dad had passed away three years previously. She had sunk into a deep depression and contacted her doctor to get help with getting a therapist, which turned out to be a terrible match. After seeing a few therapists she eventually found one that helped her grieve the loss of her dad.

Meela comes from the Greek Μίλα [míla] which means 'talk'.

Since the start, our purpose has been to help people get the right help for their mental well-being.

Everyone is welcome at Meela. Male, female, non-binary, transgender, straight, gay, or somewhere in-between. All cultures and religions, Meela welcomes you with open arms!
