Meela and Beder join forces to break down barriers to mental health support.
London, United Kingdom – 19th of January 2026
Beder, a UK charity focused on mental health awareness and suicide prevention providing free access to therapy for those 18+ throughout the UK through Beder Therapy Vouchers, today announces a new collaboration with Meela, a research-driven therapy-matching platform dedicated to connecting individuals with their best-fit therapists.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to making high-quality mental health support more accessible to people facing financial or systemic barriers as everyone deserves someone to talk to.
Through Beder Therapy Vouchers, Beder will provide six 50-minute therapy sessions free of charge for individuals who might otherwise not be able to access professional support. Recipients can apply through a short application form on Beder’s website (www.beder.org.uk) and then, upon review by an independent psychologist, receive up to six 50-minute therapy sessions, delivered online or in person, with a therapist carefully matched through Meela’s platform to ensure a strong therapeutic fit from the outset.
Beder was founded by Razzak Mirjan and his family in memory of Beder Mirjan, who sadly took his own life in 2017. The charity take a unique approach to softly raising awareness and works hard to challenge stigma around mental health and suicide by creating meaningful conversations and increasing awareness across communities.
“Getting help is not just about access, it’s about being understood,” says Razzak Mirjan, Founder of Beder. “This partnership with Meela allows us to support people earlier and match them with therapists who reflect their language, culture, and personal needs, increasing the likelihood that therapy truly helps. It is an exciting next step for our Beder Therapy Voucher offering and we are delighted to partner with Meela who were aligned with our vision from the outset”
“We know how many people want help but never take the first step,” says Tiffany Boswell, Founder and CEO of Meela. “Cost, stigma, and the fear of not being understood too often stand in the way. Partnering with Beder is deeply aligned with why Meela exists – we believe access to therapy should never depend on privilege.”

On 19 January 2026, also known as Blue Monday, widely recognised as one of the more difficult days of the year for mental wellbeing, we’ll also see a London-based taxi awareness campaign centred around iconic London Black Cabs, initiated by Beder. The campaign is designed to spark open conversations about mental health in everyday settings and lower the threshold for seeking support. The initiative aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and show that support can start with a simple conversation.
This collaboration brings together Meela’s match-making expertise – where 9 in 10 people find the right therapist – and Beder’s mission to open doors to mental health support for those who need it most.
Meela is investing parts of it’s revenue into the Meela Give Back Program to help make therapy more accessible.
